Salvia

A bedding display run in drifts rather than a single block: violet-blue as the dominant colour, with a band of pink cutting straight across it and a paler blue holding the rise behind.

Woodland sage is a standard border plant for exactly this kind of mass effect, dense enough in flower to read as a solid colour from any distance. The bees in it are the reason to plant it; a good stand in June is audible before it is visible.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
