A suni in the leaf litter of a highland forest in Kenya, one of the smallest antelopes in Africa and a creature of dense forest and thicket from Kenya down to South Africa. It lives on fallen fruit and leaves, and follows monkeys through the forest to feed on what gets dropped - which is exactly what was going on overhead.
Not a duiker, on a closer look. The shape is the tell: the big rounded ears, the white chin and throat, the short straight horns of a male, and a coat that goes grey-brown on the back and reddish on the head and legs. A Harvey's duiker, the other small forest antelope of the Kenyan highlands, is a richer chestnut with a black blaze down the face and a crest between the horns, and none of that is here. They are rarely seen for how common they are: a few seconds of stillness, then gone.
