Wrens
Small, brown, tail-cocked birds with a voice out of all proportion to their size. The Americas have most of the family; Europe has exactly one, and until 2010 it and two American birds were considered the same species.
Note for note, the Eurasian Wren produces one of the loudest songs of any bird for its weight, audible half a kilometre away from a bird of ten grams. The male builds several nests, sometimes a dozen, and the female chooses one.
