Pink and yellow, with the long backward-curving spurs that give the genus its other common name, granny's bonnet.
Each spur holds nectar at its tip, out of reach of anything without a tongue or bill long enough to get at it, which in this flower's native range usually means a hawkmoth or a hummingbird. Bumblebees cheat: they bite a hole in the end of the spur and drink from outside.
