Coast Fawn Lily

Six recurved pink tepals and a spray of yellow anthers held well clear of them - a fawn lily typical of shaded redwood floors along this coast.
Named less for the flower than for its mottled leaves, which are said to resemble a fawn's dappled coat. The bulbs take seven years or more to reach flowering size, which is why a good stand of them means the ground has been left alone for a long time.
