Two lit buttes, morning
Sedona · 21 March 2025

Two buttes catching warm, low-angle light against a darker, still-shadowed ridge behind them.
Sedona's canyons run deep and narrow enough that direct sun reaches the floor and the lower slopes well after it is already lighting whatever stands highest, so for the first hour of the day the landscape is lit from the top down.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
