The heritage coast at Dunraven

The stratified cliffs of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, looking east along the bay: grass and gorse on top, and below it the rock running down in visible courses, each one a season of an ancient seabed. The alternating limestone and shale were laid down about 200 million years ago at the edge of a warm sea, and they are what make the coast so dangerous to walk under - the shale rots faster than the limestone above it, and slabs come down without warning.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
