The cliff catches the last light

A sheer red wall still fully lit while the sky behind it has already gone to sunset colour.

Cliffs facing the right way hold direct light for several minutes after the sun has technically set for everything around them, and a west-facing wall this high is the last thing in the valley to go dark. The colour is at its deepest in those minutes, because the light reaching it has come through the most atmosphere.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
