The Artemision Jockey

Bronze, from around 140 BC, recovered in pieces from a shipwreck off Cape Artemision - the horse in 1928, the boy in a separate haul, and the two not confidently put back together for years. Large Hellenistic bronzes almost never survive, because bronze is worth melting down. This one lasted precisely because it sank.
The face repays walking round to. He is a child, riding flat out with no stirrups and barely any tack, and the sculptor gave him an expression of strain rather than triumph.
