Sunset over the spires
Sedona · 20 March 2025

A cluster of sandstone spires lit from the side as the sun goes down, a single juniper silhouetted against the last of the colour.
The fins and pinnacles are what is left where water found the rock's vertical joints faster than its horizontal bedding. Everything between the joints has gone, and the spires are the gaps between the cracks.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
