Sunlit peak, compressed by a long lens
Sedona · 21 March 2025

A lit red summit stacked hard against a shadowed grey ridge behind it, the two reading as nearly flat against each other despite being a good distance apart - the usual effect of a long lens on distant subjects. The grey is not shadow alone: the far ridge is a different, older rock, and the red summit sits on it like a cap, which is the order the whole Colorado Plateau is built in.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
