Storm light on the coast
Tenerife · 13 April 2026

Rain falling in a visible curtain along the cliffs north of Puerto de la Cruz, the sun breaking through just enough on the right to light the banana terraces and a strip of coastline while the rest of the sky stays heavy.
This is the unstable weather that comes off the Atlantic and off Teide's own microclimates in roughly equal measure. The north of Tenerife is the wet, green side, where the trade winds pile the cloud against the mountain; the south, an hour away, is desert.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
