Skull Rock formation

A single figure on the skyline is the only thing that gives this pile any scale. Without it the rocks could be six feet high or sixty.

Joshua Tree sits at the meeting of two deserts, and this jumbled granite country is the signature of the higher, cooler Mojave side. It is also one of the more popular bouldering destinations in the country, which is what the figure is almost certainly doing up there.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
