Saint Basil's Cathedral

Not one church but nine, built between 1555 and 1561 as separate chapels sharing a foundation, each under its own tower. That is why there is no single space to stand in inside, only a warren of narrow ones connected by passages.

The colours came much later. For its first century or so it was largely white, with gold domes rather than the painted ones.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
