Red rock canyon at golden hour

Prickly pear in the foreground, a juniper-pinyon woodland filling the valley floor, and red rock walls catching the low sun on both sides.

Low-angle light is what turns Sedona's rock from rust to the saturated red it is known for, which is why sunrise and sunset are when everyone with a camera is out. At midday the same walls read as dull orange-brown.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
