Pool in the cave

A shallow pool floored with flowstone, and a stand of stalagmites rising out of it. The water is saturated with dissolved limestone and every drop that lands leaves a fraction of it behind, so the shapes are nothing more than a record of where the drops have been falling.
The ripples moved while I was standing there. Nothing else in the frame has moved appreciably in a thousand years.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
