Path through the meadow

A mown path cut through a field left to go over to oxeye daisies, leading back toward the cottages at the edge of the grounds. A meadow like this takes more deliberate neglect than it looks: the trick is to cut late, after the flowers have set seed, and to take the hay off, because a meadow left to rot its own cuttings grows richer every year and the daisies lose out to grass.
