Rows of a single flower each, planted in bands down the hillside rather than mixed - closer to a woven textile than a garden, and the point of the flower farms strung along Biei's Panorama Road. The farms exist because of the view. This is potato and wheat country, and the flower strips were first planted in the 1970s to draw the visitors who had started coming for the rolling fields, which a local photographer had made famous.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
