Moonrise over the Dolomites

A waxing gibbous moon well clear of a bank of low cloud, the treeline a silhouette at the bottom of the frame, exposed to hold both the lit face of the moon and the last colour in the sky. The Dolomites are famous for the enrosadira, the pink glow the peaks take on at sunset and sunrise, and the moon is the reason the evening one is worth staying out for - on a clear night it lights the pale rock enough to walk by.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
