Midgley Bridge

A steel through-arch bridge built in 1939 to carry the highway over Wilson Canyon at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, funded partly by the Depression-era Works Progress Administration.
Seventy-odd feet of open steelwork over the canyon floor, with the sun catching the underside of the deck through the trusswork. Before it was built the road into the canyon forded the creek, and was cut off every time it rained.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
