Broad white petals around a tight yellow-green disc, set among the reds and magentas of whatever else is sharing this bed.
A marguerite, the Canary Islands daisy that fills bedding schemes and pots across England every summer, told from the ox-eye daisy of the meadows by the fewer, broader rays and the finer, ferny foliage. One calm flower doing the job any good border needs somewhere in it: a place for the eye to rest between the louder colours.
