A little further along the overlook, the road below reduced to a thin grey line through the green. Scale is hard to read in country like this until something built shows up to measure it against - and the green is worth a second look, because it is juniper and pinyon pine, the two trees that between them cover more of the American Southwest than any other, growing where it is too dry for a proper forest and too high for desert.
