Fog over an alpine lake

Cloud pouring down a cliff face into the basin below, thick enough to swallow most of the far shore - weather that moves in and out of a Cascades cirque on its own schedule, regardless of the forecast at the trailhead. A cirque is a glacier's armchair: the ice sat here for thousands of years, plucked the rock out of the headwall and ground the floor into a bowl, and when it melted the bowl filled and became the lake.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
