Fiat 500

Syracuse, with an SR plate to match. The car is a 500L, the late-sixties trim with the extra chrome, and it is still exactly the right size for streets laid out long before anyone was designing for cars.

This corner of Sicily was flattened by the earthquake of 1693 and rebuilt in pale limestone over the decades that followed. That is why so much of it looks of a piece: it went up at once, to a plan, in the same stone.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
