Driftwood in the surf

A long exposure, which is what turns breaking surf into this smoothed, almost solid form rather than the usual chaos of white water. The camera holds the shutter open long enough to average every wave that passed through the frame into one shape.
The green is algae, and its height on the wood marks the usual waterline. The moon sits almost directly above, caught sharp because unlike the water it did not move during the exposure.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
