Cotswolds at dusk

Ploughed fields gone the colour of raw umber under a lavender sky, a single farmhouse where two fields meet, ridge behind ridge fading toward the Severn. The wealth that built the villages here was wool: in the Middle Ages the Cotswold sheep, a big long-fleeced breed called the Cotswold Lion, carried the finest wool in Europe, and the churches and manors are what the merchants did with the money.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
