Cathedral Rock reflected
Sedona · 21 March 2025

Cathedral Rock in warm evening light, doubled in a shallow pool sitting in the slickrock.
The pools are seasonal, rainwater collecting in natural hollows in the sandstone, and gone within days of a dry spell, so the reflection is as much a matter of timing as the light is. The hollows themselves are potholes, ground out by grit swirled by the rain over thousands of years.
Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
