A mat-forming rock cress, purple through to white in the same cluster, each four-petalled flower barely wider than a fingernail.
Planted for exactly this effect, a solid cushion of colour low enough to spill over a wall or rock edge. Named for Claude Aubriet, the French botanical painter of the early 1700s, and pronounced by every English gardener as "aubretia", which is wrong and universal.
