A cove cut into the cliffs

Waves working a narrow inlet at the base of pale, lichen-patched rock.

Erosion here runs along the same joints and weaknesses that split the cliff into these blocky, almost architectural faces, rather than wearing it down evenly. The sea finds the crack, widens it into a gully, and the gully becomes a cove; given long enough, the cove takes the headland with it.

Birds, insects, plants and other wildlife, mostly from Brooklyn, with some from further afield.
